What's In The Box!

What's In The Box!

February is the month of love! And, it's the month for our next Bi-Monthly Fabulous Fabric Club Subscription! Let's have a look at December's Fabulous Fabric Club box in closer detail.

This month was what I call Hazel's box! The boxes are always a collaboration between the two of us, I choose the fabrics which are going into the box then Hazel designs the pattern once she has seen what I have chosen. We then talk about the extras which need to go into the box, such as bag hardware and zips. There is always a reel of sewing thread in each box too. Depending on the extra items needed there is usually a small gift such as sewing machine needles, buttons, small notebook or sewing themed pencils, these are all items we have had in past boxes. No food items in my boxes!

The fabrics are 100% quilting weight cotton. There is a metre of fabric in the box, usually as four Fat Quarters in different designs from the same range. The fabrics come from renowned textile design houses such as Lewis and Irene, Art Gallery Fabrics and Dashwood Studio to name just a few.

Every pattern Hazel designs has full pattern pieces to cut out, a fabric layout, a cutting list and a six-step tutorial with twenty photos. Also, if you are new to sewing or love watching videos then since May 2023 Hazel's patterns have a link to a full YouTube video, check out her channel here.

December's box had three Fat Quarters from Lewis and Irene Folk Floral, and a Fat Quarter of Bumbleberries. The pattern was the Una Boxy Bag, which can be made as a cross-body bag or a shoulder bag depending on the type of strap you use. In the box was a piece of plastic canvas to use for the bag base, d-rings, two zippers, a piece of velcro and sewing thread.

I have an unboxing video on my YouTube channel, where you can also find other unboxing videos of past subscription boxes. Here is December's.

Happy sewing!
